review 1: Stephen Covey shares powerful insights in "The 3rd Alternative" and Think Win/Win is no exception."Win/Win is a belief in the Third Alternative. It's not your way or my way; it's a better way, a higher way".Most of us will say "yeah, yeah, we know this already. Win/Win's the way to go..." It's almost as if it's the socially acceptable attitude. But in reality people are likely to act in their own best interest and when we look we find a 'Win/Lose', 'Lose/Win', or just a plain 'Win' scenario playing out. After all, many of us are brought up to believe that winning is everything. I just have to watch the dad's on the side of their kids sports field to see this! So in reality this is a habit to be learned and practiced.
review 2: This is one of those books that wo
... moreuld change the world to a much better place if everyone practiced its ideas. And the ideas aren't dogmatic religious or political teachings. It's about a more open and honest way to get along in spite of differences.I read another book, "On Dialogue" by David Bohm expressing a very similar concept/message. Interestingly, Bohm, one of the 20th century's top physicist, comes from a completely different background than Covey but both see the same solution. less
