review 1: A sweeping epic set in the harsh deserts of Arabia and ancient Palestine.A war that rages between kingdoms on the earth and in the heart. The harrowing journey of the woman at the center of it all.Step back in time to the year of our Lord...A.D. 30.I didn't even get halfway into this dreck. Reads like a bad romance novel. Want some info on the historical Jesus then read "ZEALOT". At least it won't insult your intelligence.
review 2: This is an unusual premise, only allowing the Jesus character to speak dialogue found in the New International Version of the New Testament. The settings, dialogue, descriptions and tone were perfect. I especially liked the careful depictions of the observant Jews throughout. My only problem is with the idea that Jesus would spend
... more any period of time speaking with a non-Jewish woman, particularly alone, at night, in a remote area. He made it very clear in one of the Gospels that His message was to Jews only, and not for the Gentiles yet.I have other books by Mr. Decker which I liked and am impatient for the sequel, A.D. 33 to come out. This will make an excellent movie and with its limited locales will be easy and inexpensive to make. less

A different style of book than normal, but still a great read. Very enjoyable.

Interesting take on events. I borrowed this as an audio, most enjoyable.

So different than other books he's written. Can't wait until A.D.33.

This book is too steeped in Christianity for my tastes
