review 1: While this novel was intriguing and filled with suspense, allowing you to follow two men on their journeys to discovering ancient secrets, it was written as a horror story. I loved following one character but the other not so much. It was gory, gruesome, brutal, and down right sick in some spots. I would not recommend this book for someone who can't do the horror genre. If you don't like blood and guts, don't read it. If you do, then by all means have at it! This book is otherwise captivating and the story itself is fun. You'll feel like an archaeologist for sure. You won't be able to put the book down. If you don't like gross, you won't be able to put it down quick enough!
review 2: I really enjoyed reading this book, it was different from other history/advent
... moreure stories and the villain was bitterly twisted to a degree that I have not come across before in any other mystery. The villain was truly diabolical. Many discoveries in the plot lead to a surprising final conclusion. I would love to see this as a screenplay as long as they followed the authors story totally and to not stray away from the original plot. Well worth a read. less

A great read. Love these history mysteries. The writing was great and not plodding.

It's a bad copy of the Da Vinci code. Unbelievably cruel and violent. Don't read it

It started out well, but it became more ludicrous as the book wore on.
