review 1: This book was quite short in content, the whole second half was dedicated to defining the 34 strengths. I enjoyed the short stories on successful executives. I've read a lot about Gallup workplace surveys before so this book didn't contain much information that I hadn't come across before. Beware when you buy the book, I got mine on Amazon and the unique code to access the strengths finder survey has been open and used, though I didn't consider that in my rating and review.
review 2: As a general rule I'd say that leadership books are leadership books are leadership books... I read this one & found a bunch of the suggestions helpful, but I wouldn't say it sung out as a piece of magic.What was magical, however, was the Gallup leadership profile you get to do at ... morethe back on the book (they give you an online code) and the info that comes out of that. I did it with the small team at my church, and it was a real revelation for us to look at aspects of our profiles & get insights into each other and how to work better.I've done Myers Briggs & DISC before, but this was very different, focussing on leadership-specific subjects.Good times! less
