review 1: This is an interesting add to the Batman legacy, especially the glimpses and more back story to Bruce's parents, Alfred's history, and some explanation for all the crazies in Gotham. I didn't, however, like that it can't make sense in the later world of Batman Beyond, which I've always been a pretty big fan of.Also, way too many technical talk and "action" talk, which doesn't translate well to audio and books.
review 2: I could talk about the several problems with this book, I could talk about the poorly executed plot, I could talk about the inconsistent descriptions and plot holes, I could do all that but at the end of the day all of those things could have been forgiven if Hickman had actually bothered to understand the character of Batman. He didn't however
... moregiving us a bitter selfish and petty man instead of the broken fanatical and methodical Batman that we have all fallen in love with over the better part of a century. The only reason I give Wayne of Gotham 2 stars is the chapter with the Joker, believe me when I say that was the only high point in this waist of a Batman story. less

Excellent addition to the Batman canon. Especially liked the backstory about Bruce Wayne's father.

A great book by a great author, about a great character = a whole lot of... greatness.
