review 1: I give this book 4/5 stars because I really liked the plot in this book, but I hate/love the ending. I'm completely enamored with Carden. Despite that, I don't really get the whole "Ronan angle" of the book; For instance, he shows up at the most random times. As well as in the first two books there seemed to be something going on between them, but Annelise doesn't think twice about him. The book also had a few boring parts, and I wish that the book had more twists . Overall, though, this book was way better than the first two and definitely held my attention.
review 2: Fresh from her mission Drew must fall back into the grove and figure out how to keep her bond with Carden a secret. This proves to be more difficult than anticipated as they can't seem to stay aw... moreay from one another. Drew must work extra hard to keep others from finding out or she'll be the one to pay the price. This highly addictive dark series just keeps pulling you in with new characters and new developments with Drew and the rest of the trainees and vampires. I am intrigued with the potential love triangle between Ronan, Carden, and Josh. Josh hasn't had a major role in Drew's love life, but the makings are definitely there to exploit some feelings between the two of them. Drew is thrown into the protector role with a new roommate and forced to fight a fellow classmate to the death. Just another average semester on the Isle of Night. less
