review 1: Dos palabras definen este libro al inicio: atractivo y muy impactante. Una palabra define a este libro en su desarrollo: asqueroso. Y disculpen si uso este término, pero lo es. Cuando el autor se propone crear la atmósfera para el personaje (¿antagonista?) Seth, de verdad no lo pudo hacer más repulsivo, fétido, morboso y grotesco. Debía saltar partes de su relato por estos detalles. La trama al inicio atrapaba por lo que ocurría en el apartamento y la narración es exquisita en ese aspecto, pero cuando pasaba a describir a Seth, ya perdía totalmente el hilo del relato por lo antes descrito.
review 2: There were times when I wanted to give up reading this in the beginning of my time with it but thankfully I didn't. A very well written modern horror class... moreic that had me almost chewing my nails - well I would have if I was partial to nail chewing. The climax of the novel is a hand-wringing affair and that is what I like in a novel as it draws the reader into the story. Usually I go for the Laymon, Ketchum, Kilborn, Iain Rob Wright kind of stories as I enjoy raw horror however this one has all the power of those but just differently. Where the above mentioned authors can make the reader cringe this one will make the reader squirm. less
