review 1: I really liked the character of Killian, kind of a gun-for-hire. He's Pavee (a traveler)from north of Belfast. The narrator was excellent as well which helped me realize that perhaps the best kind of audiobooks for me are mysteries or thrillers. There was a lot of violence in parts of the book, but it didn't feel gratuitous. The story was exciting, with twists and turns. I'll be reading more of this author and listening to this narrator again.
review 2: Not bad but I think I need a break from Irish crime fiction for a bit. I hope to read much more from McKinty in the future. The future is, however, most decidedly not now. I will try to regroup and give this a proper review in the near future. For now, t is a good Irish crime novel. It is similar to other Irish
... morecrime novels I have read lately but it is mighty. In an aside, I believe "peelers" is the single greatest slang term for cops that I have ever heard. less

Nice play on the title, as in the meaning behind it. Not what I call an easy read.
