review 1: My favorite of this series is still the first. It had more funny moments, even if the end was a little far fetched. The ending of this one was a little too conspiracy theory for my taste. None-the-less, I enjoyed it. McKinty is a good writer, and his novels are a hell of a lot better than most of the genre drek out there that I've had the misfortune to read. If you like detective fiction this series is definitely worth your time and money.

... mores the ending, but that didn't detract from my enjoyment. In fact, I found the novel a lot more believable than others with more outlandish plots and lots of red herrings, and the fact that real historical incidents and characters were used added to this effect. less
