review 1: This book got two stars ONLY because I finished it. If I didn't finish it, which was a close call, it would have been 1. I like the premise of the story. You have Anthony, he is half fae and have something more. Honestly, took me a few minutes to remember. He has lost the love of his life, a human. He uses a 'glamor' to make people think he is just human. Because without his glamor, apparently he is so glorious, everyone wants to jump him automatically. He is still devastated over it and isn't looking for anything. His friend, a were, is out looking for his 'soul mate'. So, Anthony being a good friend goes with him to an exclusive club with him for support. A club that is run by an Alpha were. So far, so good. Then we meet Silver. Silver... what can I say abou... moret him. He is horrible. I really don't like him at all. In fact, if we replaced him with another Alpha with a different personality, I'd probably like this book. I like those 'instant' gravity pulling- no fighting it- mate bonds. But not if your mate is Silver. He is full of it. He is one of those 'wanna-be' Doms that put a bad name to title. Seriously, he assumes just because he is an Alpha and Anthony is his mate, he doesn't have to put into consideration Anthony's feelings. He treats him like shit. All cave man style. 'You're my mate, you do as I tell you. Because you are beneath me and will no longer be able to make your own decisions. I will tell you what you want and like. Safeword, nope you don't need one. I know what you need/want. That brain of yours, just turn it off.'Does Silver learn that he is in the wrong, that he is an egotistic ass. Nope. Needless to say, I am not very happy with the ending. As I said before, if it wasn't for Silver, then I'd like this story and would continue it. But right now, I have no desire to continue it. In fact, I most likely will not at all.
review 2: This is probably a 3-3.5 star read for me. It's a very quick easy read. I think this will become a comfort series for me.Insta-love haters will NOT like this story, but destined mate story lovers will be pretty satisfied with it.The ending felt rushed or maybe minimized is a better word. It was a very quick, convenient ending. It felt like too many things might have been introduced for such a low page-count.My main issue with this story is that Silver collars Anthony without Anthony's permission. That didn't set well with me no matter the beauty or value of the collar. :-/I'm bumping the star rating up because I did enjoy the story enough to continue with the series. less
