review 1: This book is very compartmentalized, historical, and sounds delicious! It is, however, very hard to read like a book. Stewart hits all the sorts of things that go into alcoholic drinks, the pitfalls, the dangers, and the substitutions possible. However, reading several paragraphs on item after item is a dreary thing! I recommend this if you are going to grow your own items, and you could throw it in your bar collection as the recipes are good. For what it is intended to be, I don't know how you'd make it any better...
review 2: As a person who likes plants, likes books, and likes to drink (not necessarily in that order), I found this book pleasing in so many ways. The sheer volume of information is presented in easy-to-follow chunks -- though some of it is
... more a bit thin, soooo much more could be said about certain plants -- and the overall package is attractive and inviting. I'd also have liked more illustrations along with the nice layout designs. A fun book to dip into as the mood strikes. less

Absolutely hysterical! Words cannot express how much I enjoy this book, indeed the whole series.
