review 1: I read the Winter Bride first, so I wanted to go back to see how it all got started. I enjoyed Lady Bea and the literary society. It brings home how much good simple reading can do, and I loved that they were reading Pride and Prejudice to people who had lost the ability to read as they grew older. The plot was a bit far-fetched but fun and horrible at the same time. I am anxious to see what happens to Daisy, because she's worth all the rest put together, and I've already read about Damaris and Abby. Jane's character I can't quite get into yet,
review 2: I am a great fan of Anne Gracie and took a writing course run by her at the lovely Rippon Lea stately home in Melbourne yesterday. She had a couple of her latest books for sale and I was aghast that I had
... moren't read them yet, being such a big fan of hers so promptly bought them and read them both within the day. Ms Gracie certainly knows what she is doing and is a great storyteller. Nothing momentous happens, nothing terribly horrible, but the tension slowly mounts until you are barracking for these two young things to get together and have wonderful children together. These stories are just plain nice, and I love them :) less
