review 1: Being my first Sherlock Holmes story I have read, I was a bit disappointed in how straight forward the plot was. There was no real sense of mystery that I found myself admiring which is what I though Sherlock Holmes was all about. There is mystery in the plot of the book of course, but there was nothing that I, as the reader, really wondered about. Everything was laid out pretty clearly. This story seems more like a simple conversation as opposed to an engaging mystery. Unless I just had the wrong idea of what a Sherlock Holmes story was like, I was not a huge fan of how simple this read was.

Musgrave pun memberikan waktu seminggu untk mencari alasan pengunduran dirinya,setelah beberapa hari berlalu Bruton dan pelayan wanita yang bernama Rachel Howells menjadi gila. Setelah Holmes datang ke Istana Hurlstone untuk menyelidiki kasus tersebut Holmes menemukan mahkota peninggalan Raja Charles I di sebuah danau dan menemukan mayat Bruton yang sedang merangkul sebuah peti di sebuah goa bawah tanah disekitar Istana Hurlstone less
