review 1: This definitely wasn't what I expected. It was a great deal of run fight for your life run - but in that type of situation there really is nothing else you can do. I enjoyed the book but the way it all came to and end was a little maddening. I did not like that I was hoping for more of a HOLY CRAP that's what happened. There was also a part when Kieran comes back like I was like really come on that was a little far fetched but all in all it was an ok read for me.
review 2: I'm officially in love with Blake Crouch after reading the Wayward Pines trilogy (what, you haven't read it? go read it!). This book gets a 4/5 simply because I thought the ending was very, very odd (don't read the rest if you don't want spoilers)..."oh, we're all better now" with no explan... moreation was just confusing, as was the breach of the Freemen compound and the fact that the Colcloughs just managed to find each other where the Mr & Mrs met years ago (and ran into her lover, too...what?). BUT, the bulk of the story was action-packed, really scary, I kept waiting for the son to turn crazy, and it had me so focused that when I got to the epilogue I had forgotten about the prologue, which is a good sign. Can't wait to read more of his work! less
