review 1: Meh....remained "meh" throughout the entire "storyline." Great premise for a book, poorly developed characters and plot. I'm not sure I'd read this author again (definitely wouldn't pay for one of his books!) It was like reading an awful "B" movie. Not one character made me even want to like him/her except maybe the 16 year old daughter, Devlin. There was a bit of a twist at the end but absolutely no explanation or insight into why the character did what they did. I still don't know if the FBI agent was good or bad, what caused the "bad" guy to do what he did and why it was set in Alaska. The wolves...why? The whole book...WHY??? Matter of fact, I wish I could go back and change this to one star!

... moreanity for a moment (a short moment), I disliked this book because the plot had so little exposition and a terrible resolution. I felt as though I was mired in an ever-deepening morass of misogynistic action that had no real point. The characters were underdeveloped and one-dimensional which resulted in a "plot twist" that neither surprised me nor elicited the intended sympathetic response. Instead, I was just grateful it was over. less

Started out as a promising icy thriller, got lost in a storm of ridiculousness.
