review 1: I absolutely loved reading the book, "Keeping Faith"! It had many plot lines that involved romance, arguments, and wonderful characterization. I enjoyed the complex tone of the book, and being able to see the characters evolve as the book went on. The religious portion of the book really attracted my attention, because Jodi Picoult's usual novels don't involve that much religious views. I could not put this book down the last 150 pages!! There's so many surprises at every page; that really keeps me intrigued!"Keeping Faith" by Jodi Picoult is the story of a young girl caught in the middle of a divorce. Her father was discovered cheating, yet again by her extremely protective mother, Mariah. After the divorce is finalized, Faith begins to talk to an imaginary friend,... more known as her "Guard". After many strange things begin to happen to happen to Faith, both physically and mentally; Mariah realizes she may have passed her mental illness onto her daughter. Little does she know that that's only the beginning of the problems to occur. I would recommend this to read, especially if you enjoy other Jodi Picoult books. The book has the usual trial, romance, and of course thick plot line that will leave you turning pages. If you are looking for a great read with a little bit of everything, this is the book for you!
review 2: wow! Jodi Picoult always makes me think and examine my beliefs, and this book did not fail to do the same. This book was about a girl who was deeply affected by catching her father in an affair, and religious/supernatural changes that affected her both spiritually and physically, along with all those people around her. It really shows how one person can truly affect a world, and does not minimize faith in everyday life. I absolutely loved it! less
