review 1: A delightful romp. The heroine wants to be a pirate, but girls aren't allowed in the league. Instead, she faces the worst future imaginable -- finishing school!When she runs away to become a pirate, she starts a series of adventures that end up with pirates triumphant.Quite fun. Well-written and clever. Not particularly deep or moving, but that's not necessarily necessary for a good frolic.

I read almost half the book in just one day.I loved this book, Carlson did a really good job on it. I was wonderful the whole way through. I rather enjoyed the beginning, it was funny, cute, very spunky, and not to mention very well written. It had a g... morereat plot, great dialogue, great characters, a great theme, a great everything! And I did not see most of it coming, which helped to keep me on the edge of my seat. I found it very thrilling, and it had one of best happiest endings I’ve ever read. In fact it just might be the best ending I’ve ever read. I would read the whole book again, and a again, it was that good. There was nothing but an “and, and, and” I found wrong and I would say it was the second best book I’ve ever read, right after The Lucky Uglies.I loved all the characters, (except Oliver and the father), but my absolute favorites where: Hilary (of course), Charlie, The Gargoyle, and Miss Greyson, which I think is probably my favorite would of those four. I loved it, and anyone in there right mind would. I give it a 9.5, and you absolutely must read it. less
