review 1: WOW. This was an interesting read. It was not exactly light, but I really enjoy historical books, and this one was engaging as well. I have heard of Mary Queen of Scots, but that is all I knew about her, was her name. She lived a very interesting life as a royal and queen at a young age. And it was interesting to learn about how politics between countries played a large role in the mearrying off of royal children. I would definitely recommend this book.
review 2: The Wild Queen is another Carolyn Meyer historical fiction. I have read a few of her other Young Royal books so I went in with expetations of loving it. I however was dissapointed. The Wild Queen recounts the life of Mary Queen of Scots as a little girl till her house arrest in England by Elizabeth. T
... morehe Good: Meyer always gets the history aspect of the novel right on. This is no different, through her writing I felt like I was not reading about France or Scotland, but that I was in France and Scotland. I also got a good mental image of the clothes and faces of everyone. The Bad: The downside of this book can be summed up to one word; Mary. Mary, Mary, Mary... She made ALL of the wrong choices! ALL OF THEM! I felt so freakin frustrated reading about her making all of these horriable errors! Seriously I kept face palming and muttering 'girl you so going to be offed' over and over while reading this. lol The Book: This book was a frusterating read but Meyer's writing did make as entertaining as it could be. Do keep in mind that Meyer is writing a historical novel; in which it follows the true events of Mary's life. In this case Mary was just was not the brightest nor the most logical, which always spells disaster in court life. I honestly think it was the subject matter that brought down this book. I would only recommend this book to the Carolyn Meyer fans. If you are not a fan of hers; as in you don't care to read everything she has wrote, go ahead a skip this one. less

Mary made some very, very bad decisions. She almost deserved to be executed.

Read more like a long Wikipedia article than a novel.
