review 2: As much a fan of the characters I am, I can't say I like this series. The author has a knack for getting the speech patterns and vernacular down of the Darcys, and seems to use the correct terms from the 19th century, but I can't help feeling I would like the series if it wasn't a Jane Austen greatest hits thing. "Oh, here's people from Mansfield Park, and here's a book with Emma
... more and Mr. Knightley! Isn't this a coup!". The series should stand on its own, and without all the guest stars, I don't think it would. Plus the fact every book ends with a marriage. ...Is that necessary? If the next book doesn't marry off Georgiana, or if she isn't married by the last book in the series, I will be amazed. Oh, wait, she's rich - she can afford to be single. It's not that I'm against marriage or happy endings, but what are the odds every town they go to has a crime that would end in marriage? The only book I'm not certain of is the one with the stolen diamonds, and that's because I really had to force myself to finish it. It's the Darcys - of course they aren't going to end up in gaol. Rather boring intrigue, personally.I'll pass on reading the remaining books in the series. I want drama ending in marriage, I'll read what few Jane Austen books I haven't yet read. less

Loved it! Very true to the Austin style. A very pleasant to read yet intriguing mystery.

This book was a lot of fun. I plan to check out the others in the series.

A perfect way to put together two of Jane Austen's favored couples
