review 1: I'm on an on-again-off-again Jane Austen-inspired books kick this mystery worked for me because it also satisfied my on-again-off-again mystery series hunger. This was a perfectly fine read for what it is: a nice way to pass the time with a book that I'm not going to have to think about too hard. I'll give another book or two by the author a try and see how I feel about the series. Maybe *this* will be the series of mystery books I actually finish (I've been looking for that ever since I finished the original Nancy Drews when I was a kid).
review 2: I've enjoyed this entire series, though I think I preferred this one over the others. But in all of this series, Ms. Bebris manages to capture the style of my favorite author, without descending into bodice-ripper e
... morexcesses as have many other pretenders to Miss Austen's succession. The storyline in this book was less paranormal and more normal, which I quite liked. And --as always-- it was interesting to see how Ms. Bebris furthered the adventures of the side characters from the original Austen novels. I could almost feel sorry for Mrs. Clay. Almost. less

Another enjoyable Darcy mystery with a great plot and not so obvious outcome.
