review 1: Fitzwilliam and Elizabeth Darcy are on holiday in Lyme with their daughter Lily Anne and Georgiana. While they are walking on the waterfront they come upon the pregnant Mrs. Clay, who has suffered a serious injury from a fall at the base of the Cobb. The woman goes into labor and dies after giving birth to a baby son. Mr. Darcy uncovers evidence among his late cousin's personal effects, indicating he might have been murdered. The Darcy's begin to look into this complex mystery and soon sort everything out.Ms. Bebris does a masterful job of intertwining Jane Austen's memorable characters from "Persuasion" into this story. The mystery is well written and very intricate. It takes a keen eye to see through all the twists and turns of this story. Excel... morelent.
review 2: This was a very good story combining the Wentworths and Elliots from Persuasion with the Darcys. They are on vacation when they find an injured woman. They are able to bring her to a safe cottage and get medical help for the woman to deliver a boy child. She dies shortly after but the interest in the boy as a future baron/baronet? combined with questions of her accident lead to the discovery of murderers, and smugglers. less
