review 1: Another fun and satisfying Gretchen Lowell/Archie Sheridan story. Really glad I stumbled upon that first one. This series has really become one of the most consistently engaging series I read. I never thought it would go this long (this is the 6th book, I think), but I'm glad it did. Although, if it goes to a 7th, I would think Cain will have to let Gretchen be a little less "good", especially where Archie's concerned. Wouldn't want her becoming predictable....
review 2: Of course, when I randomly pick up an audiobook I somehow pick up the last book in the series. I was very interested in the history between Gretchen and Archie but sometimes I could tell if I was reading a mystery thriller or a raunchy sex novel. Despite the gang activity and serial killers Ar... morechie deals with on a daily basis his sex drive is insatiable. Just the sheer amount of sex and the detail it goes into really detracted from the story in my opinion. Even in Archie's possible last moments he thinks about boning Gretchen Lowell? Please. It had potential that was constantly interrupted with various boners and sexual flashbacks. I will definitely not backtrack for the preceding 5 books. less
