review 1: Well, that was quite the finale. Tons more plot than the first three collected volumes combined. And, I was glad I knew the characters as well as the first two made me. I described volume 3 as "Buffy lite" but this might have been worthy of the slayer. There was some rushedness towards the end, but as I understand they didn't quite have as long to wrap it up as they anticipated. I was satisfied. This series wasn't my favorite and had some flaws, but in the end it was fun reading with great characters and a worthy apocalypse.
review 2: Collects iZombie issues 19-28This collection is super-sized because it collects all the final issues of this series.I found the end to be semi-satisfying, however the story never reached the potential I believe it had. I remember
... more how enamored I was with Volume 1, but my interest started to wane heavily somewhere in the middle of Volume 3. Allred's artwork continues to be a highlight of this series, however there was an important issue (called "Mix it Up")in the middle of this collection (in terms of building the mythology), and for some reason a different artist was used on it. It really threw me off. For some reason, I hated the sub-plot about Galatea and her two friends (the brain and the Russian monster solider. Some of the mythology that was built into the overall story got to be too convoluted for my taste, and I had the distinct feeling at the end of this book that some of the storylines were wrapped up prematurely. Perhaps the series was scheduled for cancellation, so Roberson had to write the best end that he could. I particularly felt like there was more planned for the characters Scott, Gavin, Scott's grandpa, and Dixie. In conclusion, iZombie told a complete story, all of the characters arcs were wrapped up (even though some were on fast forward), and we finally found out why this series is called iZombie (sort of). All in all, I'm glad that I checked out this book. less

A surreal quirk story that I look forward to seeing become a new tv series.
