review 1: I liked the first volume of iZombie for the wonderfully weird and creative ideas that Roberson brought to horror staples like zombies and werewolves. And he's still full of ideas, which is part of the problem. There's a lot of stuff going on, but nothing really happening, if you know what I mean. We get introduced to fascinating concepts, but nothing happens with them. I've read 12 issues now, a full year of stories, and I still feel like we're in exposition mode. Surely this has to kick into some kind of gear soon, right?
review 2: The charm from the first volume pays off and multiplies with this volume's character development. Chris Roberson finally reveals the plot behind the plot, as the Xitalu story arc is introduced, adding alien gods to the mix of not-qu
... moreite-zombies, were-terriers, talking chimps, and snobby immortal mad scientists. By the end of this volume, one comes to the conclusion that it is such an awful waste that the series was cancelled. No matter, it's the journey that matters, et cetera, and with this lighthearted story, lingering is no problem at all. less

Not as good as the first trade, but it offers some background on Gwen, Ellie, and Scott.

An improvement from the first volume with some really funny and interesting turns.
