review 1: No disappointment with this third addition to the John Puller series. John Puller, a criminal investigator with the US Army, is investigating a case that involves his brother, Robert. Robert has been convicted of treason and is locked in solitary for the rest of his life. John has a chance to investigate and possibly clear his brother. The problem is that everyone has an agenda and no one can really be trusted. I recommend that one reads these books in order as the story builds though the series.
review 2: This book has me so confused. It starts out so incredibly solid, with a strong vivid plot. And then, about halfway through, the story just gets completely chewed up by all of the action. The book actually gets bogged down with all the layers of unfolding e... morevents. There is so much thrown into the mix that the book loses its suspenseful hook, depth and credibility. Case-in-point -- the cabin scene near the end -- it makes no sense. less
