review 1: I want to own this book. The story is so sweet about a little boy and his younger brother Owen and how Owen always wants to play with him but Sam (Bumblebee Boy) wants to play alone. Maybe it touched me because my 3 year old can recite it by heart outloud and read the story to me almost word for word, or maybe because I have two little boys, either way, this one is a keeper. I have read it too many times to count and can still read it with gusto. That's a sign of a cute, good book!
review 2: After my kids enjoyed Awesome Man so much, I thought they'd probably like this, too. I think most of them actually liked it better. It's a cute story and the imaginary aspects were a little bit more clear which I think is why some of the kids enjoyed this one more. There... more's a bit of a message about including people but it's not really heavy-handed or overt--most of the book is devoted to Bumblebee Boy's adventures. The story is easy for the young'uns to understand and they enjoyed the pictures. I think that most of my kids would even be able to read this one themselves, as the language isn't too intimidating. less
