review 1: This book is in Donna Ball's Ladybug Farm series. I highly recommend these books but suggest you read them in order. I mistakenly read this one out of order and while it's not the worst thing in the world, it lessens the impact of the book before it.Overall I really enjoyed continuing to read about the 3 women who pool their resources and purchase an old mansion and farm in the Shenandoah Valley. I did find the first 2/3 of this book to not be up to the caliber of story that I had come to expect. The plot was slow and not as interesting as I expected. But then all of a sudden it became the deep and page-turning kind of story that makes this series so appealing. I really like reading about strong women and this story does not disappoint.

... morepated reunion with old friends, getting together with the folks of Ladybug Farm has both good times and bad. I enjoyed this as a sweet and easy read but it seemed just a bit lacking in the depth of story. Previous books seemed to have a little more to the story. Nothing specific that I can easily point to; just seemed a little more contrived to me and I started questioning how adult women could truly live together in such a house and place. That being said, I will continue to read upcoming books in the series. less

I've loved all of the Ladybug Farms books, but I think this is the best one yet!
