Bachelors of Blueberry Cove
review 1: This is the first book in the Bachelors of Blueberry Cove Series. I read the 2nd book first, Half Moon Harbor, and did not really care for it. I think that I couldn't get behind the main characters. I liked Pelican Point much better. I think because Alex MacFarland and Logan McCrae are more likeable. They are both have experienced losing someone they truly love through an accident. Alex lost her father from a working accident, trying to restore a Canadian lighthouse and Logan lost his fiancee during a storm while fishing on the fiancee's father's trawler. Alex comes into Blueberry Cove, Maine with all her belongings in a truck that is barely working. After the lawsuits and outstanding bills, she doesn't have much left. She is banking on the restoration job of... more Pelican Point's lighthouse to get her back on the saddle and hopefully heal herself. Work for her is cut and dry - she sees what needs to be repaired, assess what it takes to fix it and then finds a way to make the money part work. Now only if her personal life could be as easy. The lighthouse, house and keeper's cottage that is under consideration is owned by the chief of police, Logan McCrae. He has been putting off renovation because of the memories that went along with the lighthouse and he just doesn't want to face it. Alex and Logan are great together. I love their bantering. It is a great rebuilding story in more ways than one.
review 2: November in Maine heats up in this contemporary romance.Alex McFarland didn’t plan on making her entrance in Blueberry Cove by fainting into the arms of Logan McCrae – police chief, owner of Pelican Point lighthouse, and bachelor. She’s here to assess and restore the lighthouse and associated buildings. It’s also her opportunity to discover if she needs to change the direction of her life.Logan thinks he has figured out his life and is working a job he loves in the place he belongs. He’s about to learn what’s lacking in his life when Alex stirs emotions long dormant. The external action stays simple and believable in this story. It’s the internal changes forced on both Alex and Logan which supply the turmoil. Interesting characters fill out the community and supply possibilities for future tales. less

A love story set in coastal Maine - what's not to like. The first in a series.
