review 1: This second book in the Cupcake Club was so much better written than the first book. The emphasis this time was more on the relationships than on the food! I can totally believe Riley's heartbreak story & why she totally hermitted. Been there, done that. I really liked how brave Riley was & how she came to some realizations about her past relationship. I also liked how we got to see snippets of Carlo & Chartlotte's relationship. And of course we got to see more of Lani & Baxter from the first book. I was surprised that Carlo & Charlotte's lovestory hasn't been told in detail yet. Maybe Kauffman wants to write about when they get married? I hope she does write about them soon! Anyway, back to the book, Riley & Quinn are a believeable couple. Riley's dog Brutus is hilariou... mores! Franco & Alva are soooo funny too. Great book! I'm looking forward to getting to know more of the characters in the CupCake Club world.
review 2: I really enjoyed the first book in the cupcake club series called "sugar rush". I was looking forward to something similar with "sweet stuff". As I was reading "sweet stuff" it seemed like because the guy in question was a writer trying to finish a book, Donna Kauffman seemed to be adding more words than necessary for the story. I was actually getting bored until Ms. Kauffman had more dialogue between Riley Brown and Quinn Brannigan. Riley has been mending a broken heart from her ex-fiance for about 1 1/2 years. She moved to Sugarberry Island as a transitional location to figure out what she wanted to do with her life. She became friends with the members of the Cupcake club and decided to stay. She has this humungous dog called Brutus that brings Quinn and Riley together. I'm guessing that Kit Bellamy will be the next main character of the 3rd book in the series. Everyone else in the cupcake club is called for. Can't wait. less

Right on the mark description of someone who you love with all your heart betraying you.

Super cute. It was quick Hallmark-like movie story. Great "no mind" book.
