review 1: At twelve years old, Gideon sees his father shot with his hands up, but doesn't realize his father was murdered. When he is called to his mother's death bed, she tells him the truth of his father's death. His father was murdered because he discovered a flaw in a system and reported it. The boss ignored the warning and 26 people were killed. Gideon decides to take revenge on the boss. It takes him 10 years, but he brings the boss to justice. Then Gideon is hired to find a Chinese man and bring him in with the information he has. Gideon also finds out that he has only a year to live so the $100,000 will help him to live his last year happily. This is his first job with Eli Glinn, but of course, not the last.
review 2: I am a big fan of the Agent Penderg... moreast character & had not read any of the Gideon Crew books but I will read the others they have written about this charachter. I like how they explained his drive & how he got to the where he is in the present day based on witnessing the death of his father at 12 all the while growing up thinking his dad was a traitor. He is recruited by a clandestine goverment department to assist in obtaining new technology that a Chinese scientist is bringing to the United States. This book will not disappoint. less
