review 1: Supernatural Noir, must be one of my favorite genres. In the back of this trade is an ad that lists all of the books that Ed Brubaker and Sean Phillips have collaborated on. It reads:"Discover the many underworlds of Brubaker and Philips".I am happy to say, I have discovered them all, and I fondly return to each of these disturbing sites, in my memories. I would say that out of Criminal, Incognito, Sleeper and Fatale, Sleeper is my absolute favorite. Fatale is pretty damn great, too. It takes the anthology noir format they have mastered in criminal and blends in a little Lovecraft, with Jo as the central motivation for all the male characters that are led to their doom. I will never stop praising the works of Brubaker and Philips.
review 2: Another phenomenal g
... moreraphic novel by Ed Brubaker & Sean Phillips, FATALE Vol. 2 reveals more of Josephine's mysterious past and her connection to the devotees of the "Old Gods".I especially enjoy how each volume of this series (and this applies to most of Brubaker's work) reads as a stand alone series AND a chapter in larger work. Set in LA during the 70's, Vol. 2 is filled with sex, drugs, and weird cultists! Sure to be a new-fav read for both crime & horror fans alike! less

Possibly not as tight or complex as the first volume but "Fatale" is still a ripping yarn.
