review 1: In this humorous spin on the Goldilocks story, a little goat sneaks into the three bears' house and proceeds to eat the bowl of porridge (spoon and all), the chair, and the bed. Unlike Goldilocks, though, she realizes she has done something wrong, so she compensates the three bears with a special present. Both the voice and the illustrations are hilarious, and it's a lot of fun to find the differences between this book and the tale it fractures. It is also refreshing to see the goat at least attempting to make up for her transgressions.
review 2: In this reimagined fairytale, a goat plays the part of the naughty little girl who sneaks into the Bears' house while they art out. In a humorous twist, the goat eats everything it likes instead of just using it. When ... morethe goat's misdeeds are discovered she attempts to make things right the next day and shares an unlikely meal with the Bear family.Illustrations were a bit stronger for me than the text; this story would've read okay as a wordless story. They spotlight the humor in each situation.Good read aloud with PreK-2. less
