review 1: I was afraid that the second book would be too familiar with the first one. As in: same story, different characters. I feared boredom. Did she repeat a lot of things? Maybe, but in my opinion she used a lot of the same phrases in the beginning so that someone who have skipped 'Sins of the Heart' would still know what's up in this one. Alastar is no Dagan and I fell head over heals for Dagan. But Alastar is simply the brother you have to adore. I love the world that Eve Silver has created. But for a second she got me scared. For a second I thought this book would break my heart and my only hope would be that the third brother found a solution in 'Sins of the Flesh'. But Eve Silver surprised me by her wit and returned my hope in mankind.I can't wait to be swept of my feet ag... moreain in the third. Eve Silver, you've got yourself a new fan!
review 2: I didn't like this one as much as the first one but parts of it were very good. I particularly liked Naphrae, the SHero, who had an intriguing background, Egyptian mother (who also happens to be a daughter of Aset) and a Japanese father (descended from a Japanese goddess). I liked Alastor, but his tendency to hide things from Naphrae got annoying after some time. And I thought the ending was a little vague. What about Butcher's dark soul and the info it has?!?! Is it just forgotten? less
