review 1: So now the series has come to there last book. This one is about Vlad trying to survive his last year of high school. After leaving off with the reader not knowing if he would be sentenced to death or not it is finally revealed. After that both vampires, and slayers come to Bathory in search of one thing, Vladimir's blood. Once the two sides clash many people in Vlad's life including Nelly, Snow, and Tomas die, and he's forced to live out the rest of his teens with his uncle Otis. At the end of the book Vlad finds out that his dad is actually a very evil man, and is forced to take Tomas's life for taking so many valuable things from Vlad's life. At the end of the story most main, and secondary characters meet at there graduation, ending the series off on a rather happy ... morenote.
review 2: This book was very interesting. It had some messages that I found could be put in the world as we know it. One message I saw was that people have to put aside their differences for the greater cause and for others. This message can be seen through Joss and Vlad. Vlad is a vampire and Joss is a Slayer. For this reason they are mortal enemies and have to hate each other. But when the town of Baythory was in danger they put aside their differences to help save the town and all their loved ones. They even managed to be friends after that. Even though they worked together, not everyone survived the attack. Vlad misses Nelly since she died at the hands of his father who is a vampire. Once he killed Nelly, Otis ran after him while Joss and Henry fought another vampire. In the end Vlad was able to turn everything back to normal with his Pravus powers. But that couldn't change the fact that Nelly was dead. In the text it said "I love you, Nelly. You were a good aunt, a good mom. I miss you"(314). This shows how Vlad misses Nelly. He gives her the title of his mother to show how much she means to him. For that reason he must miss her dearly. less
