review 1: Magic Bites - I found it to be a different kind of story that has some interest and me wanting more. Kate is strong and endearing in her own way. This Curran character has her interest and maybe a bit more. There is necromancers, vampires, shapeshifters, a hot guy, and a kickass girl. What more could an urban fantasy want? Oh yeah, there is also a great plot line with a story that will entice you to want more.Magic Burns - Kate Daniels has seen her share of occupational hazards but becoming a mother to an orphan is an unusual one. On this adventure she learns of a tie that she was not expecting and becomes a game of large cat vs an even larger cat. This time out I found Kate to be more and more interesting. The pack needs her help to retrieve a stolen item. Which bring... mores about a game that has high consequences if she fail. I found a story that had drawn me into this world a bit further and will ensure that I read the next bookMagic Strikes - Kate's not suppose to have friends because they are a liability. At least that is what she has been told countless times. But she is not as cold blooded as she pretends to be. She learns the value of friendship and what she will do to protect a friend or friends in this case.Magic Bleeds - Kate may very well be thinking or saying ain't family a bitch. I got to say wow, wow, and wow. And telling her employer to kiss off was a very good move when they were not standing to protect the good of all mankind/humankind. I sensed a bit of prejudice.I got questions and hope to get me some damn answers. Q1 What the hell happen to Grindo and Andrea?Fact - Strong leaders get no freaking respect nor do their significant others.On to the rest of the series.
review 2: Even though I mostly gave 4 stars for every book in this series, I am giving it a 4.5 star here because I really enjoyed reading this! I love how action packed it is and how great Ilona ANdrews described each event. It is full of magic, mythology, fighting scenes and a lot of kick ass events that blends well together. I just wished there's a lot more romance in this book coz it made me feel Curran and Kate's love story is just a small speck of dust among all the events happening in the story.Over all, I can't wait to read book 6 of this series. I hope it arrives earlier than 2013 hehe ^_^ less
