review 1: many deep issues are tackled in this novel. Accidents n circumstances that causes changes, wondering where resilience is to keep going questioning God. Two sisters perception of the other according to the comparison by their mother, having to workout how responsibility or duty by family members. mistakes and choices of the past cannot be changed but continuing to be a slave to that conditioning is wrong when we have a gracious God who forgives n loves. Strong faith theme in the story that brings hope.
review 2: This was so different from any of Irene's books that I've read. It was a sweet story, but not as fast paced as what I'm used to from this author. It took a bit for me to actually feel connected to the story. There are a variety of characters and issue
... mores that at times, felt a little busy but in the end the author ties them together well. The characters deal with betrayal, forgiveness, terminal illness and more. My favorite part of this book was seeing the two sisters bond and grow closer, after years of being manipulated by their mother. less
