review 1: Another unusual one, Thursday has recovered from her injuries and now she's trying to find out not only where the excellent quality replacements of her are coming from... but what kind of use she can get out of them. Because, cleverly, she always makes the best use out of everything she comes across. Another very unusual book that goes places you really don't expect it to go. The series is still enjoyable and I'm looking forward to book 8.
review 2: I was going to give this 4 stars until the last third of the book, but then it just got so good and amazing, with so much of the breakneck, geeky, imaginative oddness which delights me so much that I cannot help but love it. This entry in the Thursday Next series has very little Book World in it at all, but instead
... more a return to the time travel and physics/relativity issues that were more important back when Thursday's father, rogue ChronoGuard agent, was a bigger part of the story. I had missed all that, so yay! Thursday is much older now, which is great to experience as a reader, although her many titular deaths are less so. A rough time for Thursday! less
