review 1: There was a reason I fell in love with the work of Jeff Lemire, and was super excited to see that he was a big player in the New 52.... what was it...? Oh Yeah! This book.this book is so depressing and bleak, I need a sitcom to watch afterwards just to shake off the feeling. I do hope that the connection between the hybrid children (like Gus, "sweet tooth")and the virus that killed off humanity works and is interesting. Until then, I will eagerly keep reading these trades, even if I feel like I need a hug afterwards.
review 2: Ooh the plot thickens. We get to find out the truth about Jepperd's son. We get to meet a crazy new religious group. We get a big battle scene at the militia compound. We get to find out where the group is now heading. Overall this was a ... moregreat book, I couldn't put it down. Plus we're getting a more and more information about Gus's true history, and it's just little pieces enough to make me really need to get the next book already. This is definitely the kind of series you'll want to steamroll through. I can't wait to find out what happens next! less
