review 1: I bought this book at the Strand in October (plucked it off a staff favorites stack because a) I do that a lot and b) it looked interesting). Then I read all these "best book of 2014" type lists and this trilogy was on all of them, so I figured it was time to see for myself. And... I liked it. It was different and strange and it left things unresolved. I don't know if it's the kind of book I can love...? But I will definitely read the sequels, because... a) I do that a lot and b) I'm confident they will be similar and c) I want to know if there will be any kind of ending.

... moreminded me of the book House of Leaves in its mystery revolving around great supernatural activity. If you liked House of Leaves I think you'd also enjoy Annihilation (a much quicker read with less (as in none) foot notes). less

Satisfyingly mysterious and disturbing. I'm looking forward to reading the other two books.

Complicado pero adictivo. Es una rara avis de la narrativa.
