review 1: I have enjoyed the descriptions and the writing style of Jenna Burtenshaw in this book. Unfortunately, I have not read the first book of the series. To me, Silas Dane felt like a more noteworthy character compared to Kate Winters. But I assume that it is because I did not read the first book and I did not know about the events transpired there. Hopefully, I will be able to get my hands on the first book on my next trip to the bookstore.
review 2: I love the darkness of this series. Some of the scenes in this book were very creepy but I always love to read them. The first book is still my favorite but this one was still worth the read. I can't exactly say why I didn't like this book as much but the connection I felt with the characters in the last book seemed to
... more have lessened. i might be comparing it to the first book a little to much. I think I was just expecting a little bit more. The second book should either be as good or greater then the first. I feel that this book failed at that. I like the connections the characters have with each other, but they don't seem as real as before. I love the setting but I just wasn't as interested. There is some good and some bad in this book but it was the setting and the idea behind it that made up for it's losses. less
