review 1: I liked this book more than I expected. Something about the first pages made me feel the author was trying too hard to push her knowledge of the St. Louis setting and it wasn't required info for the plot. Although initially the main character who narrates the story seems naive (or plain dumb?) she does grow on you. The language used by Slan is richer than the writing in most cozy mysteries. That was very surprising and refreshing. Interest in scrapbooking not required to enjoy this series.
review 2: I really enjoyed this book. I was a little wary because I don't know a lot about scrapbooking but I really enjoyed the balance in this book between the scrapbooking - enough to teach me a bit without making me feel ignorant or not able to understand the story - and
... more the mystery side - fun, interesting and different to the usual run of the mill mystery. This had a nice every-woman feeling about it, that any of us could find ourselves suddenly caught up in Kiki's life. I look forward to reading the rest of the series. less

Was hoping that the ending would end with more closure and romance but it was good.
