review 1: If Douglas Adams had taken on Edgar Allen Poe it would have resulted in this book. The story is not incredibly substantial in anyway, but the humorous wit with which it was written absolutely makes up for it. The character development is deep enough to actually care what happens, even if the story becomes slightly predictable. All in all, I thoroughly enjoyed Cabal and look forward to the rest of the series.

I regret not reading this 5 years ago when I bought it. Such a good story, such colorful characters.
