review 1: Aside from the origin/mechanism of the creation of zombies, the horror it puts the victims through... I really didn't like it all that much. It seemed to be your standard zombie horror show. I was quite disappointed as I had come to expect more from Maberry. I'll read the next one as these are the stories that lead up to the Benny Imura series which I loved the first book, but I'm hoping this evolves above this.
review 2: This was my perfect summer book.It has been awhile since I've finished a book in 3 or less sittings, but this one grabbed my attention.I enjoyed how the author introduced us to many characters and then shifted around perspectives to show different angles on the same events. Think of it as "Zombie Rashomon"My only complaint would be what I w... moreould deem to be an incomplete ending. I do hear there will be another book in the series soon, I am excited for it. less
