review 1: 3.5 bintang.Sebetulnya seru dan ini merupakan novel fantasi tipe klasik yang lengkap, tapi keseruan itu baru saya rasakan menjelang akhir. Sejujurnya saya agak bosan membaca awal sampai pertengahannya, bahkan saya sampai melakukan dosa seorang pembaca buku: membuka-buka duluan lembar-lembar terakhirnya.Ngomong-ngomong, cuplikan kisah Svein yang ada di awal setiap bab adalah sentuhan yang bagus. Khususnya saya suka sekali kisah Svein memilih istri, hahaha.
review 2: Still processing. But let me try:Halli is an absolute idiot for the first half of the book. While reading I frequently exclaimed, "No, Halli!" Ah, idealist, naive, & self- consumed youth...However, the more trouble Halli caused, the more endearing he became. I had to see how things were going to turn... more out. I had to learn the truth about the old stories (more than Halli did at times!). All in all, he was a wonderful character whom I was rooting for. I immensely enjoyed how the story turned out for him. Aud - love her. She was hilarious. So outspoken. So strong. Loved the ending for her as wellGreat overall message. Great 'boy' book though it is still something girls can get in to. My only complaint was the twist ending everybody talks about. Yes my mind was blown. But I was so confused. I reread the whole ending. THEN I reread the beginning looking for clues as to how this might turn out. BTW they were there... I haven't completely decided on how I feel about this ending bc it still doesn't completely make sense to me. That is the only reason for my rating. I enjoyed everything else less
