review 1: To say that this book was excellent doesn't even cover it. Lady Catherine was a firecracker (a some what confused firecracker, but a firecracker none the less). She didn't know who she was, felt like she was missing a large part of herself, as well as missing her memories of everything that made her - herself. Missing for five years and not knowing why. But belonging to the equivalent of a royal family that has many secrets. Of which aren't known to anyone except to people who've been working for the family for a long time, and the grandmother would like to keep it that way. However that comes to the lime light at the end of the book, bringing peace to the family, and peace to the land as every one wants... In my opinion Lachlan certainly suited her, though try as he migh... moret at the beginning he wanted to deny those feeling for her. He wanted to hate her, for who she wasn't. That changed though as they finally got to know each other, as well as finding out the truth as to who she is, person wise. Memory wise that comes at the end. The book had twists and turns that could make one confused if one wasn't paying attention. This book held my attention through each word that was written, through each sentence, through each paragraph, through each page, and through each chapter.Catherine went on a journey - leaving everything behind and placing herself in the highlanders hands to help to discover herself and her past to try to help Lachlan. Lachlan didn't trust her one bit, but couldn't deny the biting lust bunnies that keep working his way into his body, mind, and soul. Lachlan also seemed to keep thinking that how can Catherine be the witch Raonaid, when she was so kind hearted? With Raonaid who is cruel and twisted in more ways than one can count on your fingers and toes combined. Still yet he can't bring himself to trust her, thinking her memory loss is a ploy.Skipping some of the bookWhen they get to Castle Kinloch, she meets Angus who automatically thinks the worst (as does his wife). She tells him that she doesn't remember anything, just that she is hoping to find answers of what she can't remember and hoping to help Lachlan. Angus doesn't buy it, only that it is a good cover up for what ever she is trying to play at. Until he finally comes to the conclusion that something is very different... Odd. She is everything that Raonaid is not, proper, poised, kind. Not ruthless or rude. After further investigation they discover differences that make her not Raonaid, but her twin, her sister. As time goes on, Lachlan and Catherine fall deeper in love with each other. Despite the fact of the curse. Despite the fact that people keep telling the both of them that it would be for the best that they stay away from each other. Despite the fact that they come from different ends of the social spectrum. Neither one of them cares. They heed no warning... Well with the exception of the curse, Lachlan was scared of that and how much he felt for her. He didn't want to feel way at he felt, he didn't want to put her in danger. That in turn made her push his buttons, and ask questions, and get angry/hurt/betrayed... They were both in love, deep - stand outside your window with a boom box, write poetry, throw rocks at the window, climb up the tree to get to the window to talk to each other late at night, text all night long, no you hang up first fight - kind of love. When they went to go meet Catherine's twin, they expected the worst. They expected Raonaid to try to poison her mind. Except Raonaid came out of her shell and protected the person that was always there for her in spirit. Both Catherine and Raonaid had felt a presence all their life, like they were watching over each one another in spirit. It was finally a happily ever after for Raonaid, after a life time of hardship and hate from those around her. She finally found herself a place, with her real family. Despite her powers she was gifted with, she had finally found family, she was loved by those around her, and she was finally accepted for who she was. After all the shit hit the fan.Catherine remembered.Lachlan and Catherine got married. And lived happily ever after, her getting everything she wanted back... And then some.Sorry for the spoilers... But this book. Is hope for those that don't believe that love is out there in some way. It's hope that there is a happily ever after in some way. I wanted to write everything down so I can look back on it so that I can remind myself of this fact.... That even in the darkness, there is some kind of hope. Even when it seems like the chances are slim to none, and not everything is as it seems. If I could give this book more stars I would do so.
review 2: Stars: 4.5Overall: So when starting this book, i was a little disappointed because i thought the story was going down a bad road and then the twist happened with Catherine and the book for me took a whole new life. One of my favorite side things about the book is that we got reintroduced to previous main characters from the other books. I really loved how each book in the series was tied to together in one way or another. My only real negative with the book is the romance between our hero/heroine. I kind of felt like one minute it was hot and the next it was cold. I was hoping that they would actually sit down and explain things to each other instead of assuming it. The Epilogue was my favorite part of the book because it gave me closer to the series and gave me the HEA i was looking for. Characters: Lachlan & CatherinePage Turner: Not at first, but the 30% mark started a whole new story for me.Series Cont: No, last book in the series.Recommend: Yes! less
