review 1: As with the first of this series the author grabs your attention and entices with the first few pages. This book is well researched and well written. There are several detailed descriptions of spell ingredients and processes. I mostly skipped these parts but if that is your thing you may love this book. The romance made progress in this book. Again I am looking forward to the next book. She kept most of the same cast in this book but added a couple of new characters that will probably show up again. I still prefer her Haunted Renovations Mystery series to this one though.
review 2: I admit it, I am in love with this series. The author manages to write an easy-going, addictive storyline. It is like her story is a cauldron. Throw in a fresh and innovative set
... moreting (vintage clothing store in SF), add a handful of unique, mysterious, interesting and likeable characters, sprinkle a mystery and supernatural stuff, top it off with a mysterious and adorable as well as insatiable familiar, stir clockwise and coila you end up with an awesome series and I hope she continues writing these forever! In this book Lily has to deal with something that scares her - not easily accomplished. She has to face her fears both in her private life and in her magical dealings. She meets new people and has to reconsider her opinions of some she already knows.I highly recommend this book to anyone who likes friendship, mystery, romance and magic. You won't be disappointed! less
