review 1: Oh wow, I don't know WHY I waited so long to read this. It was freaking awesome.I love Dr. Angeline Hemming. She is funny, strong, sexy and so down to earth. Of course, everyone I'm sure loves Alexander Avery...I mean really, great personality, wealthy and a dog lover...what more could you ask for!The witty banter had me hooked long before the sexy started happening. I love the way these two interact on every level.Kahlen Aymes created some awesome characters with so much dimension and abrasion from more than one direction. I seriously didn't want to put this book down. I was hooked from the very beginning. I'm stuck in Chicago wondering where things are gonna go from here. I can't wait to see not only where their non-relationship goes, but I've gotta know if Becca'... mores date has anything to do with what I'm thinking...and I need to know where Swanson comes in...ugh...Really, I can't wait to get drawn back in...I just had to come and let you all know how awesome this book is before I get caught up in the next.I've gotta go start Confessions After Dark now, so I'm not saying anything more than 1CLICK NOW!! now, I've gotta get back to Angel and Alex's story, since I 1clicked Confessions as soon as I got to the end of Angel After Dark...and when I'm don't with Confessions, I'll go 1click her next series because from what I've read so far, Kahlen Aymes is a phenomenal writer.
review 2: Seeing this book's raiting is really disturbing. I can't believe people degraded so much to give this 5 stars. Here's my opinion.I don't usually read erotics, but I wanted something hot and chose this, seeing 4 smth stars and all. It WAS hot, okay, somehow exciting, hard to put away; I finished the book in 3 days, which is REALLY fast considering how little free time I have. Somewhere in the middle the narrative became repetitious, and the poor writing began to annoy me even earlier. Here's why.First of all, the author's pretty inconsistent: for example, Becca has "bright green eyes" at first, and then all of a sudden - wow, they're blue! Damn, if you can't keep it in mind, write some notes, for God's sake. The grammar and punctuation is awful, and it distracted me A LOT during the reading. Maybe, if you never read actually EDUCATED writers, you won't notice and will be fine. The whole book was bristling with typos and errors. English isn't even my native language, but even I see that the author could use some back-to-school time. I just can't believe crappy writing like this gets published. Although, maybe it's the genre speaking.Next thing - TONS of dirty language. I don't want to even describe how the characters are always "aroused", their voices are always "sultry", and his dick is always hard. I don't think an adult man with good upbringing would talk to his father about how his brother's dick is about to fall off. I don't believe a well-educated, successful man like Alex would say "Are you fucking kidding me with that shit?" - that sounds more like a 15 y/o teenager, showing off his dirty language at a school yard. And the repeating details, like their "vibrant green eyes", "full breasts", blah blah blah. The author doesn't seem to have even the slightest idea that we only need this when it comes from some other character's PoV, otherwise it feels like Alex himself is VERY aware of his VIBRANT GREEN EYES! Everything they lay their eyes on is expensive, Christian Dior and 'put any brand here'. It's awfully annoying and looks cheap, like the author's trying to impress us, but this is not what reading is about. Ugh! I read about his and her thick hair about 135 times, by the way. There are also tons of insignificant details about other characters that have no part in the plot. I don't need to know about the personality of his sister's husband, and who the hell says 'playing in Dolby Surround Sound' about music??I had to skip those parts, scanning quickly through the page instead of enjoying description of the main characters' feelings, that actually WOULD have meant something.Their thoughts are the same every time they fuck. I got really tired of it, seriously, if you go in - GO THE FUCK IN!!! If you want out, you don't fuck the hell out of each other.I give this book 2 stars for serving its purpose: it entertained me and was sexy. But there's no way I'm continuing this brain-fucking and start the second book. less
