review 2: I received "Ho-Ho-Homicide" from goodreads as a first reads pick! What a great book to win!! First of all I have not read any of the other books in the series so I don't really know the backstory of the characters. I found this book to be a... more good stand alone and the story intriguing enough that I did not feel the need to have read the other books.I love a good holiday themed book and this one happened to center around a Christmas tree farm! Brings back memories of hunting down the perfect tree as a child and all the warm fuzzy traditions that followed. This story took an interesting turn with a missing person, a murder, and a whole town full of strange characters. Liss couldn't resist investigating the crimes, curiosity before romance for this girl. Unfortunately for Liss and Dan this led to a disaster ridden vacation! For me this book was not like my usual cozy mystery, I tend to like paranormal cozies. This book was very down to earth and realistic, which I found refreshing. I would like to read the first book in the series to see Liss in her natural habitat of Moosetookalook, Maine! less
