A Liss MacCrimmon Mystery
review 1: When an old high school friend asks Liss MacCrimmon to spend a week at the Christmas tree farm she inherited from a great uncle, Liss Happily accepts. The ramshackle farmhouse isn't the idyllic vacation locale she hoped for, especially when noisy neighbors raise questions about the farm's dark history. Whose body was found netted in a shipment of Scotch pines? Whey did the owner vanish into thin air? When a series of "accidents" strikes the farm, Liss will have to find the killer.Great book for cozy mystery readers.
review 2: I received "Ho-Ho-Homicide" from goodreads as a first reads pick! What a great book to win!! First of all I have not read any of the other books in the series so I don't really know the backstory of the characters. I found this book to be a
... more good stand alone and the story intriguing enough that I did not feel the need to have read the other books.I love a good holiday themed book and this one happened to center around a Christmas tree farm! Brings back memories of hunting down the perfect tree as a child and all the warm fuzzy traditions that followed. This story took an interesting turn with a missing person, a murder, and a whole town full of strange characters. Liss couldn't resist investigating the crimes, curiosity before romance for this girl. Unfortunately for Liss and Dan this led to a disaster ridden vacation! For me this book was not like my usual cozy mystery, I tend to like paranormal cozies. This book was very down to earth and realistic, which I found refreshing. I would like to read the first book in the series to see Liss in her natural habitat of Moosetookalook, Maine! less

Pretty good mystery. Tiny bit of language toward the end of the book, but not much.
