A Liss MacCrimmon Mystery
review 1: This is an okay little mystery. I guessed who did it, though how was a surprise, and I'm still not clear on why. It was obvious that no one liked the victim, but little concrete evidence of their grievances was offered. The major problem, though, was the contradictory characters. The main character claims that she experienced a happy childhood with devoted parents. The parents' actions, however, tend toward tantrums. One would expect the main character to be reasonable, but even she can't have a conversation without snapping at people. I mostly enjoyed the story, but I'm not interested in getting to know any of the characters better.
review 2: Liss is getting ready to get married, hindered by her mother's plans to combine the wedding with a large Scottis
... moreh conclave. When the professor at a nearby (well, for Maine) college is murdered, Liss is horrified to learn that her father is the chief suspect, since her mom and the professor shared a torrid college romance. TMI! Despite her promise to Dan, her fiance, not to interfere, Liss gathers information, trying to find an alternative to her father for the murderer's role. Charming backgrounds, and Liss is anything but a Bridezilla, which is refreshing. less

Oh, I do love a wedding! Her books are always entertaining, nothing bad about her latest effort.

An engaging mystery. A little heavy on the speculative history but otherwise fun.

For a book about Liss' wedding, Dan was surprisingly absent from the story line.
