review 1: I can't tell you why I continued to read this series, but I am officially done. Cassie Palmer continues to be a frustrating, messy, annoying female lead, who after 5 books continues to make incredibly stupid decisions (Why would you ever elect to shift naked when given the chance?).If Karen Chance would consider having Cassie mature as a character, and I don't know, maybe learn from her mistakes, this would be a more enjoyable series.
review 2: Note to Cassie:OK Cassie enough is enough! The God is dead, and shit will keep happening. Until now I could understand why you had no choice, but to be a professional leach. I like you as a character, but MOVE THE FUCK OUT. You can't complain that shit finds you since everyone knows where you are. You also can't comp... morelain that no one lets you make any decisions since you don't contribute and act like a lost teenager. Yeah, so you had a rough start. It's book 5. Get your shit together. Don't bitch about Mircea and how he is trying to control you. You live at his place, use his guards, eat his food and wear his clothes. By now, he owns your ass. He ain't your daddy, not your husband (no matter what the bullshit vampire law says or what they make you believe, because you are stupid enough to believe it), he ain't your maker or brother. At this point he's not even your lover. He's your sponsor. Now, if you wish me to think of you as grown ass independent woman get a backbone. And, stop explaining everything by pointing out that you are family. You can't call yourself family if you don't know the family and the one member of said family handcuffs you and limits your movement. Now, get your affairs in order. Anyone that read the Dorina series, knows you are not family. She is and she doen't live with them. There is no blood connection. You are not Family, you are a tool. Now start thinking on your own and not just by running off like a lost puppy. less
